Cougar Card Orders Due!

Buy Cougar Cards

… the best fundraiser ever!

Do you shop at Target? Fred Meyer? Safeway? Met Market? Where do you buy gas?

Hundreds of local and national retailers participate in scrip, known at Washington Elementary as “Cougar Cards.” You buy the cards and then make your usual visits to the grocery store, gas station, coffee shop, restaurants, etc. using your Cougar Cards as cash. The businesses donate a percentage of each card to our PTA.

How? PTA purchases gift cards from popular retailers and grocery stores at a discounted amount. The donation amount for each business is listed as a percentage on the order form. Families buy the cards from the PTA at the face value. The difference in price is kept by the PTA. Families spend the full value of the cards at the retailers.

Buy extras to give as gifts!

You won’t spend an extra dime and

you will make money to help our school!

Cougar Cards orders are delivered about once each month through the year. Cougar Cards order forms are available at the front office, on the PTA website, at special school events, and occasionally before after-school pick-up on the playground. Completed orders will be sent home with your child in “Friday folders.” Checks are made out to “Washington Elementary School PTA.”

It is very important to specify who is allowed to pick up your Cougar Cards order. Because the gift cards are the equivalent of cash, we will only release the cards to the student or other person you indicate on the order form. If you have a very young child, the teacher will make sure the cards come home in his/her Friday folder.

Thanks so much for supporting Washington Elementary!

PTA-supported activities funded by Cougar Cards include: school assemblies, library, teacher grants, kindergarten aides, 5th grade camp, reading programs and rewards, after school events, and more!

Check out for the complete list of national retailers and denominations. Local businesses are listed on the order forms.
