The Tacoma Public Schools requires all volunteers to fill out the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Form before volunteering at the school. This also applies to any parents interested in helping out with classroom parties, field trips etc.
The form must be renewed every year. In addition to the form, the Front Office will also need to take a copy of your current driver's license. Call the Front Office with any questions (253) 571-5700.
Please remember that dogs are not allowed on the school grounds. We recognize that our parents and neighbors are conscientious about cleaning up after their dogs, however, residue remains on the turf and the custodian has had to clean it up with soap and water each morning. This becomes a health hazard for our students. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our playground clean.

When the metal gates are open on the loading dock located on N. 27th Street, this means that the school is expecting a delivery at these doors. Please do not park there when these gates are open. Thank you!
The district policy changed late last year regarding sunscreen at school. The Tacoma Public School policy now states that if a student can apply the sunscreen themselves, the parent will supply the sunscreen and the student can put it on themselves. The parent must also send along a note giving permission for the child to apply the sunscreen.
If a student can’t apply it to themselves, then a physician’s order is required and the staff will apply it.
The parental note or the physician's order will be given to the School Nurse, Therese Nation.
Field day is Monday and right now it looks like it will be in the 80’s. I suggest students have hats and stay covered up as much as possible. Thank you.
