ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Here are a few tips to help you get through the first day of school!
With our move to Hunt Middle School for the 2013-2014 School Year not everything below is applicable. Start times and drop off times are the same, but line-up processes etc. will probably be different as most kids will be taking the bus this year.

MISS PEGGY'S SAFETY NOTES

The speed limit is 20 MPH, please slow down and help keep our children safe.
Do not park/stop in the school bus zone on Adams St. or the city bus stop on 26th St. Both buses will honk at you very loudly if you do.
Always yield to pedestrians in the round-about and crossing the street
Use the crosswalks
Do not stop and drop your children off in the middle of the street.
Parking at the library or across the street and walking a block is good for you!

Please don't block the corners of the street

FOOD AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Lunch
Send a lunch with your student or they may purchase one in the cafeteria by sending money with your student. Go to the TPS Lunch Money Now website for info on how to obtain a pre-paid card for lunches. Breakfast and lunch will be available for sale on the first day of school.
Breakfast is $1.65 and Lunch is $2.75.
Milk (a la carte) $.55

School Supplies
Students should bring their supplies on the first day of school unless otherwise directed by their teacher. Students should have received a letter from their teacher in the mail with a list of supplies for their classrooms.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP

There will be signs on the outside wall of the buildings that has teacher names and room numbers. Children should line up quietly by the sign.
If your child is eating breakfast, he/she may enter the school through the front door no earlier than 8:40 AM and walk directly to the lunchroom. After breakfast your child will walk out to the playground to line up.
8:55 AM First bell rings and teachers bring the students in the buildings.
9:00 AM Second Bell rings and students should be in their seats.
3:30 PM Students are released. Parents need to be on the playground to pick up their child unless other arrangements have been made with the teacher.
HOYT BLDG.
Please arrive no earlier than 8:45 AM. Have your child line up by their designated green pole. Please stay with your child until 8:55 AM when the teachers come out to get the kids. There is no supervision for the kids prior to 8:55 at the Hoyt Bldg.

Playground equipment is not to be played on before school.
WASHINGTON BLDG
Children should be dropped off in the morning no earlier than 8:45 AM. Supervision is provided at that time.

Dress Code
Washington-Hoyt Elementary has a uniform policy that all students must follow. At the bottom of the document you will also see standards set for Free Dress days. School Uniform Policy
