Don’t miss an exciting adventure of creative expression and faith exploration! During
the week we’ll sing, act, dance, and play together, connecting creative arts to faith and
discovering ways God works in our lives through art.
All ages will participate in a production of “Noah and his Wild Ark Adventure!”
What do you do if you’re Noah and you hear from the Big Guy (or Gal) Upstairs that you
need to build a huge boat and somehow convince a lot of animals to climb aboard?
Then what do you do with all those critters confined in one space...and it’s raining hard?
What else—you can sing about it!
“Noah and his Wild Ark Adventure” is an original musical written by Judy and Duane
Hulbert based on the story of Noah’s Ark. Children will rehearse in small groups
according to their ages and then all come together for the final show.
Judy Hulbert, Artistic Director of The North End Children’s Theatre and theater director
at Lowell Elementary School, will direct. Duane Hulbert, UPS Music professor, and his
two sons Neil and Evan, will provide musical instruction and accompaniment.
Space is limited, so sign up NOW!

language using their imagination. This year we will have an imaginary trip to Cuba!

ROCK THE BOOKS with JINU PARK
Free all-ages concert
Saturday, June 21 @ 7 p.m.
Olympic Room, Main Library
(Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Rock the Books - Tacoma Public Library's all-ages summer concerts continue at 7 p.m., on Saturday, June 21 at the downtown Main Library (1102 Tacoma Avenue South) with a free concert by Federal Way singer and songwriter Jinu Parks. Joining him will be DJ Pryme and J-One for an evening of rhythm and blues, pop, soul and hip hop. Opening for Park will be Inglish. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

At the age of 13, Jinu Park discovered his talent of singing while at a karaoke party. From that point on is where he fine tuned his true talent in singing. Growing up, he learned how to play the cello starting at the age of 8. Throughout his middle and high school years, he was in the orchestra and choir, where he was able to teach himself how to play the piano, guitar, and bass. He has since performed on local Seattle TV shows such as "Gimme The Mic Season 1" and "Seattle Stars Season 2". Park has just released a new CD - The Launch, for Undercaste Music (

FOLKPUNCH: A FREE SUMMER CONCERT!
JIM PAGE & ARTIS THE SPOONMAN
Tuesday, June 24 @ 7 p.m.
Olympic Room, Main Library

FolkPunch - just like it says - Folk Music with a punch to it. Contemporary and hard hitting street activist music with a raggedy circus edge. Tender and argumentative. Acoustic guitar and vocals - plus the most outrageous spoon percussion on the planet. Great fun for the entire family!

Jim Page and Artis the Spoonman! These two veterans have performed together for years - all over the US, Canada and parts of Europe. Jim Page has been on the music scene for more than 20 years, and he has shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris.

Artis the Spoonman has performed on the sidewalks and bars of Seattle, San Francisco, Manhattan, Sidney, London, Dublin, Munich and Singapore, the theatres of Broadway. His avante-garde percussion, coupled with his contagious spirit, will change your life - or at least your ideas on cutlery.

Free Lead Testing at the Proctor Farmers' Market on Saturday August 2nd from 9-2:00

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department is offering free lead testing for children under 18 and pregnant and nursing mothers this summer. This is a free test and families receive the results within 5 minutes after being tested.

Lead poisoning can be caused by exposure to lead-based paint in older homes, ceramics, candies, toys and other things in our environment. The only way to find out if your child or children has lead poisoning is to have them tested.

We will be conducting free lead testing at the Proctor Farmers' Market on August 2nd. If you are not able to attend this testing event you can visit our website to see a list of testing events throughout the summer,
www.tpchd.org/lead. Please contact Lindsay Spencer with any questions, 253 798-4783 or lspencer@tpchd.org.
