SHOP AND EARN MONEY FOR YOUR SCHOOL

ANNUAL SCHOOL FUND-RAISER NIGHT

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15th, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

TEACHING TOYS AND BOOKS
2624 North Proctor
759-9853
teachingtoysandbooks.com

Mark this special event on your calendar.  This is an easy way for you to raise money for your child’s school

  • Over 50 local schools have been invited to use this event to raise money.  Feel free to ask if your child’s school has been contacted.  All schools are eligible and we would be glad to add your school to our list.

  • Shop the night of the fund-raiser and 15% will be donated to your child’s PTA or similar group.

·       Checks are issued the night of the fund-raiser so that the money is available right away for use during the 2008-2009 school year.

·       You don’t have to be a parent to participate.  Tell your relatives, neighbors and anyone else who might want to buy quality toys and support your child’s school at the same time.

·       You can use this event to do early holiday shopping.  Much of our holiday inventory will be in the store prior to fund-raiser night.

·       You can use this event to pick up birthday presents for your child’s friends.  Buy an assortment of birthday party priced items and put them away at home.  Then, when your child announces that they’ve been invited to a friend’s party, you can let them “shop” from the collection.

·       It’s easy.  Just let us know at the register which school you are supporting and we will add the total to your school’s list.

·       It’s fun.  We will have plenty of knowledgeable staff ready to help you every step of the way.  Everyone working together to achieve a common goal gives this event a festive atmosphere.  Come join us!

2008 International Walk to School Day - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 8th at 8:15!

International Walk to School Day promotes safe walking and biking throughout the year.  Communities are using the International Walk to School as a step to change community culture and create environments that are more inviting for everyone.
Some reasons to support Walk to School Day:

·        To enhance the health of kids
·        To improve air quality and the environment
·        To create safer routes for walking and biking

Washington-Hoyt will be participating in the annual 2008 International Walk to School event on Wednesday, October 8th, with the support of our Proctor community and MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.  Meet us at 8:15 at the Safeway parking lot on North 25th and Proctor and at 8:30 Miss Peggy will lead us to Washington to enjoy donut holes, coffee, and juice on the playground before school begins.  Please park your car either at the municipal parking lot, across the street from Safeway or at Washington-Hoyt, since we do not want to disturb Safeway’s customers and use their parking lot.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Lisa Gainey at 253-576-2055.
The kids love participating in this, so bundle up and we will see you there!

Our next scrip order date is October 13
th.  In keeping with our school’s “green” program, we are going to try to save paper by not distributing a new form to each student every order date.  Rather, we will remind you of the due date and ask that you download the form from our web site.  There will also be blank forms available at both the Washington and Hoyt buildings; or just give Liz Walle a call and she’ll be glad to get a form to you.  The order dates for the entire year are:  October 13th, November 3rd and 17th, December 1st and 15th, January 12th, February 2nd and 23rd, March 16th, April 13th, May 4th and 18th, and June 8th.    Liz Walle, 752-0853 or Email
