All officers and committee chairpersons must be current PTA members in accordance with State PTA Guidelines. It is recommended those serving on committees be members of the PTA. All PTA volunteers and room parents must have a current Washington State Patrol clearance (there is no charge to the volunteer) on file and carry their card with them at all times while in the school or on field trips.
It is recommended most committees have two chairpersons, someone familiar with the position/function, another to learn the ropes and perhaps continue on the following year. All committees and chairs are responsible for reporting to the Executive Committee and maintaining appropriate records.
